Hiring from us

To use our hire service you must be a member. So the first time you use us you must join up.

You will need to visit us to do this.

It’s very simple and just takes 4 easy steps.

Initial registration and training usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

1. Fill in and sign a membership form

We will ask you to complete a membership form and sign up to our terms and conditions. Your details will be held on our computer system, but we won’t share them with anyone else. Download Our Privacy Policy here.
To save time, you can download our New Membership Form, print it and complete it before you come in.

2. Provide us with two forms of identification

This could be, but is not limited to:

  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • A Utility Bill
  • A Bank Statement
  • A letter from a company / service

One of these should have your photograph on.

3. Complete a short training session

We will give you an informal training session on using the equipment, for health and safety reasons.

4. PAY THE AMOUNT DUE

Please bring cash. Sorry, we aren’t able to accept payment by card.

Please return scooters and wheelchairs by 4:15pm.

Hire options

    • Day Membership – for £5.00 you can use one of our mobility aids for the day.
    • Yearly Membership – for £20.00 you can use one of our mobility aids any time during our opening hours, for 12 months at no extra cost.
    • Long Term Hire – if you need a mobility aid overnight or for a longer period. Please see below for details.

Need a scooter or wheelchair for an extended period?

Call or visit us to discuss your requirements!

LONG TERM HIRE

How long for? You can hire for as many days or weeks as you like. For periods of more than a few weeks we will ask you to return regularly so we can safety-check the equipment.

Where to? You can take the equipment anywhere. If you plan to go abroad, please advise us when you hire.

What can be hired? We have a range of manual wheelchairs, electrically-propelled wheelchairs and portable scooters that will fit in most cars. We also have larger scooters suitable for local use.

What will it cost? The cost depends on the length of hire and type of equipment. Our charges include temporary membership if you are not already a member of the scheme. A deposit is required, which will be returned in full when the equipment is brought back in good condition. Please see our table of charges below.

Conditions of hire We ask that you return the equipment in the condition it was given to you and on the date agreed. We may make a charge for the repair of the equipment if it is returned in a damaged or dirty state. If the equipment is returned late the extra hire period will be charged for. If you want to extend your original period of loan, please contact us before the current loan period has expired and pay for the additional period. Payment and deposits can be by cash or cheque. Sorry, we can’t take debit or credit cards.

How to hire Please contact us to discuss your needs for long-term equipment hire. Booking a few weeks in advance is advisable, especially during holiday periods.
