Do I have to be disabled to use the scheme?

No. Anybody with any mobility difficulty whether temporary or permanent can use the scheme.

Where can I use the equipment?

If you are using a scooter or wheelchair on short term loan then you can use it anywhere in Leamington Spa town centre. This includes the Parade area, the old town and Jephson Gardens.

Do I have to book in advance?

No, but we highly recommend that you do as this will avoid disappointment and enable us to guarantee you a parking space. Assistant shoppers (if available) must be booked in advance.

Can I hire wheelchairs and scooters on a long term basis?

Is there any limit to how long I can borrow the equipment?

Wheelchairs and scooters loaned on short term hire must be returned by the time agreed or 5.00pm on the day of hire. There is no maximum length of time for long term loan but it must be paid for in advance.

Can I take equipment abroad?

Yes, but it is your responsibility to ensure no damage occurs. We highly recommend that you take your own insurance out as we will bill you for any damage (such as handling at airports).

Do you provide advice and information?

Yes. We have a well stocked information library. Please ask our knowledgeable staff if you have a query.

Do you sell mobility and daily living aids?

Once I join Leamington Shopmobility can I use other schemes?

No. Unfortunately at the moment all the schemes are run independently from each other. Although the National Federation of Shopmobility is researching the possibility of a national passport.
